This was truly a remarkable feat, not only of composing, but sheer determination. I cannot imagine how much effort it must have taken to come up with something new and creative every single day for a month... Amazing to me, absolutely amazing... And what's even more amazing is that the etudes were GOOD and fun to play, something I was concerned about when the project first got under way...
Fortunately, any reservations I might have had were for naught. And as I mentioned to Jim in an email exchange (that was cool too... actually being able to email the composer the SAME DAY he wrote a piece..... wow), to me it was like when you bake cookies... for some reason, they always taste best when they're fresh out of the oven. And these etudes were just that.
Can't wait to see the intermediate book he's putting out.
GREAT JOB, Jim... Wish I had that kind of talent!

Very nice write-up. I was a subscriber as well and enjoyed the experience very much. Worst part was viewing the pieces when I was away from the horn (on my phone), and having to wait hours (until the end of the work day) to try them out!
